Chicago’s very own bed bug ordinance is now in effect, and Chicago residents have some very important questions regarding accountability and enforcement. How does this ordinance affect me? Does this apply to condominiums? What do I do if I find my landlord/tenant is not complying?
Midwest Pesticide Action Center has summarized the key elements addressed in the ordinance, as well as defining your responsibilities. Download your copy of Bed Bug Ordinance Essentials.
All condominium associations and cooperatives must have a bed bug pest management plan in place by March 24th, 2014. This plan must include detection, inspection and treatment strategies, as well as proper record keeping procedures for pest control activities.
Midwest Pesticide Action Center will be holding a ordinance-specific workshop for building managers and condominium associations on Jan 29th, 2015.
The workshop will provide participants with a plan template which can be used to create a facility-specific plan in compliance with the ordinance. Do not miss the opportunity to attend this working event, and leave with a completed bed bug pest management plan in place!
